Global VFX firm Framestore has promoted Lucy Killick to chief operating officer, film and episodic, while James Whitlam has moved from London to Los Angeles to serve as executive vice president, film and episodic on the U.S. West Coast.
Framestore provides award-winning visual effects for such films and TV shows as Moon Knight, Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness, 1899, Elvis, Slumberland, Top Gun: Maverick, His Dark Materials, Ms. Marvel, The School For Good and Evil, 3,000 Years Of Longing, Outer Range, Foundation, The Wheel of Time, Peter Pan and Wendy, Spiderhead, Downton Abbey: A New Era, The Sandman, Thor: Love and Thunder and Men.
In the past year, Framestore has expanded its team of artists, producers and technologists by some 40%, including adding new and expanded capacity in such key territories as Vancouver, Montreal, Melbourne and Mumbai.

Killick has been promoted from managing director, film, London, a position she has held since 2018. In that role, she has led VFX teams in both Montreal and London. She will now oversee production and resourcing for Framestore on a global scale.
Whitlam moves from the role of managing director, episodic into a new U.S.-based position. Whitlam spent the past six years in Framestore’s London office, where he worked on such films as Paddington 2, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Christopher Robin, as well as TV series His Dark Materials. In his new role, Whitlam will serve as point person for Framestore’s U.S. clients as well as work to explore and secure new partnerships and manage its existing ones.
