Based on the New York Times-bestselling novel by Pulitzer Prize winner Annie Proulx, limited series Barkskins follows a disparate group of outcasts and dreamers in New France batting to escape their pasts while navigating the brutal frontier hardships, competing interests and tangled loyalties at the crossroads of civilization.

The series stars David Thewlis, Marcia Gay Harden, Aneurin Barnard, James Bloor, Christian Cooke, David Wilmot, Thomas M. Wright, Tallulah Haddon, Kanietiio Horn, Lily Sullivan and Zahn McClarnon. It is created by Elwood Reid and is executive produced by Reid, Scott Rudin, Eli Bush, Garrett Basch and David Slade.

The eight-part limited series premieres Monday, May 25 at 9/8 c on Nat Geo.
