When humanity ultimately destroys itself, it sends out a lifeline to an Earth-like planet to save the species in HBO Max’s upcoming series, Raised by Wolves.
Two androids (Amanda Collins and Abubakar Salim) are sent ahead, where the female android assists in giving birth to a brood of human children and the pair set about raising them. But as her wards grow, so does her maternal instinct. When a follow-up band of humans arrives to set up camp, restart the human race and reclaim their children, she’s not giving them up so easily.
Besides Collins and Salim, the 10-episode first season stars Winta McGrath, Niamh Algar, Jordan Loughran, Matias Varela, Felix Jamieson, Ethan Hazzard, Aasiya Shah, Ivy Wong and Travis Fimmel.
The series is produced by Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions, with Scott, writer and creator Aaron Guzikowski, David W. Zucker (The Man in the High Castle), Jordan Sheehan (The Terror), Adam Kolbrenner (Prisoners) and Mark Huffam (The Martian) serving as executive producers.
Raised by Wolves starts streaming on HBO Max on Thursday, Sept. 3.
