Mark Quinn has been named director of finance at entertainment company Alkemy X, while Dawne Ballard comes on as people and culture manager at the company’s Philadelphia-based headquarters.
The announcement comes as Chief Finance Officer Jay Halbert, who joined Alkemy X in 2017, moves into the role of executive vice president and general manager and President and CEO Justin Wineburgh shifts away from day-to-day management of the company and on to big-picture strategy.
In the past year, Alkemy X has seen nearly 50% growth in new hires and 53% year-over-year revenue growth. It’s also completed several high-profile projects, such as a Super Bowl spot for Headspace starring John Legend, and VFX for top series including HBO’s Westworld, Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building, Prime Video’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead.
Prior to joining Alkemy X, Philadelphia native Quinn served as chief financial officer at Multi Flow Beverage Solutions. He also spent ten years as CFO at the Advertising Specialty Institute and prior to that, eight years at Thomas Technology Solutions, departing as vice president/CFO. After graduating from Villanova University with a degree in accounting, Quinn began his career as a contract manager at the Consolidated Railroad Company, where he was promoted to director of asset utilization after four years. He also serves as co-chair and steering board committee member for the Philadelphia chapter of The CFO Leadership Council.
“Mark has such an impressive background and a proven track record of driving business growth through careful planning and execution of financial systems,” said Wineburgh in a statement. “As I shift my focus from the day-to-day and towards big-picture strategy as we continue to experience this remarkable growth and plan for the future, I have the utmost confidence that Mark will serve as a highly effective business partner to our entire leadership team.”
