Global entertainment marketing association Promax on Wednesday announced its 2022 North America “Of the Year” finalists in the categories of creative marketing team and agency. In May, Promax released the entire list of finalists.
Finalists for creative marketing team of the year are: CNN Worldwide, FX Networks, Hulu Originals & General Entertainment (including ABC, ABC News, Freeform, Hulu Originals and Onyx), MTV Entertainment Group (including MTV, VH1, Comedy Central, Paramount Network, TV Land, Pop TV, Smithsonian Channel and CMT), National Geographic and Nickelodeon.
Finalists for agency of the year are Buddha Jones, Mocean, Open Road, Roger, Sibling Rivalry and Zealot.
In 2021, Comedy Central, which is now part of MTV Entertainment Group, upset FX Networks after 10 straight years of wins to take the title of Creative Marketing Team of the Year. Buddha Jones, a finalist again this year, was named 2021’s Agency of the Year.
Each year, Promax celebrates not only the best work from across the entertainment marketing industry but also the year’s highest achieving teams with “Of the Year” awards for in-house Creative Marketing Team and Out-of-House Agency. Following the conclusion of judging, each winning entry is assigned three points for each gold win, two points for silver and one point for bronze. The final Of the Year winners are decided by whichever teams have the highest point totals.
