With Qatar playing host to the first World Cup in the Arab world, a unique stage has been created for the teams, players and fans.

For the Bell Media-owned networks’ opening animation, Canadian sports networks TSN and CTV explored the visual identity of Qatari architecture, patterns, shapes and textures. The environment set the stage as TSN and CTV embraced the physical and elemental characteristics of Qatar’s environment while introducing the tournament’s teams and their stars. The sequence is also set to Middle Eastern-inspired music.

The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 runs from November 20 through December 18.
