There’s a lot to look forward to this summer: the end of the pandemic in the U.S., vacations, time with friends and family and, of course, Discovery’s annual summer tradition: Shark Week.

The above spot, made in partnership with Los Angeles-based creative agency AV Squad, runs ahead of the 33rd go-round of Discovery’s favorite week of the year, which returns from July 11 to July 18. With Discovery+ now available, this year will deliver the most Shark Week shows ever, including a shark movie festival across all Discovery platforms. Shark Week 2021 also includes its first-ever shark competitive docu-series, Shark Academy, which follows eight men and women as they compete for a coveted crew spot on the boat of shark researcher Dr. Riley Elliott.

To encourage fan engagement, the network also is offering augmented reality Shark Week-themed filters for Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook as well as seven nights of livestreams on TikTok.
