Starz released the trailer for season two of Vida, the Mexican-American drama that follows two disparate siblings navigating through life after their mother’s death.
Now that Lyn (Melissa Barrera) and Emma (Mishel Prada) have decided to stay in Los Angeles, they’re tasked with keeping their late mother’s bar afloat—a task that requires changing its name and transforming it into a “swanky, Insta-famous lounge.”
However, they’ll face some obstacles along the way—including financial constraints, competing developers and the growing anti-gentrification movement—as they contemplate relationships in their lives and unearth the meaning of their mother’s legacy.
Created by Tanya Saracho (How to Get Away With Murder, Looking), Vida also stars Ser Anzoategui, Chelsea Rendon, Carlos Miranda and Roberta Colindrez. Saracho, Robin Schwartz, Peter Saraf, Marc Turtletaub, and Stephanie Langhoff serve as executive producers.
All 10 episodes of season two are available on the Starz app May 23 before airing on the Starz network May 26. The complete first season is available with Spanish subtitles on Lionsgate’s Spanish-language streaming service Pantaya.
