According to a Twitter user who reached out to Tech Crunch today, the social media platform is testing out a new TV Trending box at the top of profiles, featuring popular shows.
In Twitter’s latest move to integrate TV into the platform, the TV Trending boxes serve as gateways to more information about each show. The show appears at the top of users’ timelines with links to the show’s Twitter page as well as show-related tweets and links to similar TV-related Twitter accounts.
The limited trial is currently being tested on the iOS app of the platform.

Brief Take: Twitter has long been trying to find ways to integrate, and monetize, TV. By providing these boxes for shows to market themselves, Twitter creates one more place for shows to promote themselves as well as one more place for fans to find them.
