In the second season of Hulu’s Only Murders In The Building, murders are not the only mysteries waiting to be solved in the tony West Side apartment building called the Arconia. What about Charles’ (Steve Martin) music career, and his one-hit wonder – well, in Germany at least – Angel In Flip-Flops?

Hulu teamed with creative agency Alkemy X to answer that question – and possibly resuscitate that career – by creating what clearly would have been his hit music video.

Expanding on a scene of Charles sharing the song in Episode 204, the creative team crafted a beat to surround it and then got to work on the stop-motion animation that mimics videos popular in the 80s. Fans of the series will not only see a younger, animated version of Charles, but can also spot an assortment of characters and easter eggs.
