Dave Burd stars as both versions of himself in FX’s new comedy based on the life of Burd and his alter-ego, superstar rapper Lil Dicky.
FX infused the above spot with fun by working with partners MPC, Jax and State Design to add visual effects and cel animation and then it set it all to a song written and performed by Burd himself.
Dave premiered on FX on Hulu on March 4 and has since become the network’s most-viewed comedy ever, averaging 5.32 million viewers per episode to date across linear, VOD and streaming platforms. The show will return for season two in 2021.
