Darren Foldes, Lauren Hartstone and Joanna Fillie have been named partners at bi-coastal brand studio Sibling Rivalry, joining Co-Founders Joe Wright and Mikon van Gastel.
Foldes becomes partner and managing director on the film side; Hartstone was named partner and executive creative director and Fillie is partner and managing director. Together, the five form a collective leadership team.
“As the work we do and the places it comes from continues to diversify, we need a greater breadth of background and expertise across the industries we speak to,” said van Gastel, co-founder and CEO, in a statement. “We chose Joanna, Lauren, and Darren because between them they bring a mix of loyalty, drive, kindness and obsessive appreciation of our craft. Having a multi-leadership team will benefit our clients’ evolving needs and strengthen decision making across the business.”
Hartstone is an Emmy-nominated creative director and graphic designer with more than two decades of experience spanning entertainment, tech and lifestyle industries. She specializes in visual identities and brand storytelling. Select clients include Apple TV Plus, HBO Max, NBC, Google and FX. Previously, Hartstone served as a creative director at GreteI and Imaginary Forces.
Foldes won an Emmy for his commercial work with Nike and scored an Emmy nomination for his work with Apple. He got his start working for Oscar-winning producer Arnold Kopelson (Platoon, Seven, The Fugitive) and went on to produce two films for MGM.
Fillie already served as managing director of Sibling Rivalry, overseeing operations and sales. During her more than 20 years in the business, Fillie has worked with such brands as Apple, NBC and many more. She got her start at Lee Hunt Associates and went on to Imaginary Forces and AVSO/Offspring before landing at Sibling Rivalry.
“Lauren, Darren and Joanna bring an incredible wealth of knowledge in their respective areas of expertise,” said Joe Wright, co-founder and chief creative officer, also in a statement. “As the landscape around us continues to change, we fully trust them to help us chart the course for ourselves and our clients.
“We also believe having a co-leadership team fosters a more inclusive culture, signaling that we value every Sibling’s voice and that we strive to promote from within.”
