FX isn’t giving much away about season three of The Americans, starring Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell, other than that the series will still focus on the challenge of keeping hearth and home together while remaining under cover.

Rhys and Russell star as Philip and Elizabeth Jennings, two KGB agents embedded in a Virginia suburb to spy on the U.S. during the Cold War. Season one was all about the difficulty the Jennings were having keeping their forced marriage together. In season two, having finally established that the central couple does love each other, the show broadened its scope to consider the ramifications of this lifestyle on the family. Season three will take that question a little further, while remaining one of TV’s most suspenseful, action-packed hours.

The Americans returns for season three in January.
