To create the icy trailer for BBC Sports’ coverage of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, UK-based agency Blinkink underwent a sort of motion-graphics Olympics of its own, using every available technique from 3D printing to algorithmic CGI to practical effects to hand-crafted stop-frame animation. The piece is scored with a pulsating percussion-heavy piece from UK-based music shop Gas Music Manchester.

Ultimately, Blinkink and Simon created something entirely unique for BBC Sports, which air February 4-20.
