Epix released the first trailer for original series Get Shorty, starring Chris O’Dowd and Ray Romano.
Based on Elmore Leonard’s 1990 novel, which MGM also adapted as a feature film in 1995, Get Shorty follows Miles Daly (O’Dowd), a hitman from Nevada working for a murderous crime ring, who tries to become a movie producer to win back his family, and launders money through a Hollywood film. There he meets Rick Moreweather (Romano), a washed up producer of low-quality films who begrudgingly becomes Miles’ partner and guide through the maze of show business.
The 10-episode series also stars Sean Bridgers, Lidia Porto, Megan Stevenson, Carolyn Dodd, Goya Robles and Lucy Walters.
Written by Davey Holmes (Shameless, In Treatment, Damages), Get Shorty is executive produced by Holmes and Allen Coulter (The Sopranos, Damages) who also directs the first episode. Adam Arkin (The Americans, Billions) directed three episodes and is also a co-executive producer. The series is produced by MGM Television and internationally distributed by MGM.
Get Shorty premieres Sunday, August 13 at 10 p.m. on Epix.
