“The key to hunting Jedi is patience,” the Grand Inquisitor (Rupert Friend) says in the new teaser trailer for Disney Plus’ anticipated limited series Obi-Wan Kenobi. “Jedi cannot help what they are. Their compassion leaves a trail.”
Ten years after Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) faced his greatest defeat – the turn of his padawan Anakin Skywalker to the dark side – he has set up shop on Tatooine, where he can protect Skywalker’s son, Luke, from his father. Meanwhile, the Empire and Skywalker – now Sith Lord Darth Vader (marking Hayden Christensen’s return to the role) – hunt relentlessly for both Kenobi and young Luke.
Besides McGregor and Christensen, the limited series also stars Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is directed by Deborah Chow and executive produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Chow, McGregor and Joby Harold.
The limited series debuts Wednesday, May 25 on Disney Plus.
