​As part of Black History Month, TBS partnered with creative agency Pop’N Creative to create the network’s first-ever interactive TBS HBCU Cash Out contest. Helping to get the word out are actors Lance Gross and Keshia Knight Pulliam, both of whom are alumni of historically black college and university (HBCU) Howard University and Spelman College.

Gross and Pulliam are joining TBS in inviting recent HBCU graduates to enter a contest on social media for a chance to win $25,000 to pay off their student loans. According to the U.S. Department of Education’s White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African Americans, “Black college graduates have nearly $25,000 more student loan debt: an average of $52,726 in student debt, compared to $28,006 for the typical White bachelor’s graduate.”

The contest will select three winners. Entrants have until March 8 to submit a video of up to 60 seconds in length to Instagram, Twitter or YouTube and tag it #HBCUCashOutContest. TBS will select three grand-prize winners from among the entries.

Multicultural marketing collective Pop’N Creative developed the concept, working closely with TBS to execute it across social platforms.
