Sam (Keir Gilchrist) braves the “whole new world” of college in season three of Netflix’s coming-of-age series, Atypical.

In the trailer, we see the 19-year-old navigating his freshman year at Denton University. Along the way, he’ll attempt to beat the odds of students on the spectrum by graduating college within four years.

Sam, who is obsessed with Antarctica, uses a penguin metaphor to cope with his new venture.

“I recently realized that the essence of a penguin is the thing that stays true about them in any situation. Penguins need each other. They lookout for the good of the colony. A penguin stays, struggles and perseveres.”

Meanwhile, his sister Casey (Brigette Lundy-Paine) struggles with her feelings for Izzie (Fivel Stewart) while his parents (Jennifer Jason Leigh and Michael Rappaport) deal with marital infidelity.

It all goes down when season three of Atypical premieres Nov. 1 on Netflix.
