With March comes spring, and like daffodils pushing out of the cold ground, original series are popping up everywhere with the NCAA’s March Madness basketball tournament tucked in between.
Original series based on true stories are the rage right now, with Netflix’s Inventing Anna debuting last month. March brings Peacock’s Joe vs. Carole, another story out of Netflix’s smash hit Tiger King and starring Shrill’s John Cameron Mitchell as Joe Exotic and Saturday Night Live’s Kate McKinnon as Carole Baskin. On that same day (March 3), Hulu debuts The Dropout, based on the story of Elizabeth Holmes, the Stanford dropout who tried to reinvent blood testing and later was convicted of criminal fraud.
Major series also make their return during the month, including season two of Netflix’s Bridgerton, which focuses on oldest son Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), and season three of FX’s critically adored Atlanta from Donald Glover.
Marvel is back with its latest series – Moon Knight, starring Oscar Isaacs. And Apple TV Plus takes a major swing with its lush telling of Pachinko, based on Min Jin Lee’s best-selling novel.
